Whole Wheat Atta Croissants

Whole Wheat Atta Croissants

Whole Wheat Atta Croissants

Description: Winter in the USA has its own gentle charm. Kitchens hum a little louder, ovens glow a little warmer, and comfort food suddenly feels like a personal love language. Whole Wheat Atta Croissants turn that winter magic into something flaky, cozy, and wonderfully homemade. They feel indulgent without being heavy, and they bring a sense of joy that fits right into the calm, snowy mornings. The best part is that they get their structure and rustic depth from Hathi Brand 100% Whole Wheat Chakki Atta. The atta adds a warm nuttiness that blends beautifully with butter and layers, creating croissants that feel both familiar and surprisingly fresh. They rise slowly, bake gracefully, and reward you with golden folds that invite a quiet moment of happiness. For winter breakfasts or holiday brunch tables, these croissants make the season feel softer, richer, and a little more special.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Hathi Brand 100% Whole Wheat Chakki Atta
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 150 grams cold butter (unsalted, for laminating)
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter (for dough)

Method

  • Add whole wheat atta, salt, and sugar to a mixing bowl.
  • Activate yeast by mixing it with warm milk and letting it rest for five minutes.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients. Add softened butter and knead until smooth.
  • Cover and let the dough rest for one hour.
  • Shape cold butter into a flat square and refrigerate.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle and place the butter block in the center.
  • Fold the dough over the butter, sealing edges tightly.
  • Roll and fold the dough three times, chilling it for ten minutes between each fold.
  • Roll the dough, cut triangles, and shape croissants.
  • Let them rise for 45 minutes.
  • Bake at 400°F (200°C) until golden and crisp.

Serve these golden croissants fresh from the oven. Their warm, nutty layers pair beautifully with tea, hot cocoa, or winter mornings that deserve something cozy and lovingly homemade.
